Principles

1. Compliance with regulations and social codes

Basic policy
We are thoroughly committed to conducting business based on our management ideas, and to complying with relevant regulations and social codes, and to fulfilling our social responsibilities as required by our local community and its residents.

 

Code of practice

In the operation of our businesses, our employees understand the social responsibility of our corporation, as required by the local community and its residents, and fully understand that preserving and living by our management ideas contributes to the improvement of the social good. Moreover, our employees will continue to comply with the regulations and codes governing the operation of our business, so that our corporate governance can function well and securely. We have established a business audit committee, to help us define and meet a higher level of expectation, and so that these policies will be protected as a code of business conduct that conforms to our management ideal.

2. Preventing conflicts of corporate interest
Basic policy

We make decisions in our businesses only under the full awareness that the decision must be the best for our corporation.

Code of practice

Our employees perform their activities while confirming that the following conditions are fully satisfied.

  • Comply with appropriate regulations
  • Within the authority provided by the corporation
  • Not affected by private interests
  • Possessing sufficient information on which to base the decision
3. In-company notifications
Basic policy

We will make sure our in-company environment is such as to recognize any actions that might have a negative effect on our community or society, such as disloyalty or information leaks, and will correct and prevent the re-occurrence of any such event or action.

Code of practice

If any of our employees knows of any action that infringes upon or may possibly infringe on our code of business conduct, he/she must take the steps required and stated in the in-company information manual. In such a situation, the person coming forward with the information will not suffer any penalty for doing so.



Business Activities

1. Treatment of medical institution staff and subjects
Basic policy

We comply with all regulations and social codes, as well as in-company regulations and rules. Identifying with the staff of the medical institution, as we do, we put our first priority on ethics, and we work hard to assure that clinical trials are appropriately conducted.

Our employees work hard to provide faithfully executed and appropriate clinical trials as they deal with all members of the medical institution staff and the subjects. Identifying, as we do, with the medical institution staff, we put our first priority on ethical conduct, and we intend that all clinical trials are appropriately conducted. To accomplish these aims, we comply with all relevant regulations and promote our monitoring activities according to sound social custom and common social practices. Moreover, we follow best practices to prevent the occurrence of any accident or problem regarding the clinical trial drugs, the medical institution staff, and the subjects. If any accident or problem occurs with regard to any of these, we put the safety of the subjects first, and take immediate and appropriate actions. But, equally importantly, we bend our best efforts to preventing any extension of the accident or problem.

2. Treatment of our customers
Basic policy

We comply with the business procedures stipulated by all laws and regulations. We are committed to pursuing the pharmaceuticals development businesses and performing clinical trials properly within a relationship of fair trade.

Code of practice

Our employees conduct themselves toward all our customers with a fair and polite attitude, and always cope faithfully with the customer's requirements. Our employees comply with all related laws and regulations and establish and maintain a relationship that is profitable for both the customer and ourselves, in keeping with sound business practice. Our employees will not accept any individual benefit from any customer, in any form.

3. Promotion of fair dealing
Basic policy

On our trade activities, we comply with the laws and regulations intended  to prevent private monopolies and to secure fair dealing.

Code of practice

In order to prevent any problems with establishing business contracts, our employees will state the conditions clearly before the start of the negotiations, and will not set forth any information in our sales promotion materials that might cause a misunderstanding.

4. Administration of corporate confidentiality
Basic policy

We classify information created and/or obtained during our business activities in terms of their importance, and manage important information properly and strictly. Also, we manage the information of third parties (medical institutions staff, subjects, and customers) collected and/or used by us, and information deposited by them with the same care and discretion as we handle our own information.

Code of practice

Our employees make every effort to prevent information leaks, following our in-company administration rules. When information must be disclosed in-company, we only discuss it within a specified period. We do not use any disclosed information for some other purpose than that for which it was originally disclosed, nor will we try to obtain information through deceit or dishonesty.



Social Responsibility

1. Respect human rights and individuality
Basic policy

We respect human rights and the individuality of all of the people having any contact with our corporation, including medical staff, subjects, customers, and local community residents and employees. We never permit any discrimination or harassment, and nor permit such activities to be overlooked if they occur.

Code of practice

Our employees respect the human rights of the medical staff, subjects, customers, local community residents, and people in the larger society, in the conduct of our development activities. We respect basic individual human rights and do not discriminate in unreasonable ways unrelated to the performance of our business, such as regarding social positions, resources, race, beliefs, or gender. At the same time, we do not permit any discriminatory actions or harassment by our employees. We will handle with utmost care any information that relates to privacy, such as in-company personal information. We take appropriate action, such as by various educational programs, to improve our understanding and recognition of the issues of preserving basic human rights and the protection of various rights derived from them

2. Employment and working environment
Basic policy

We hire people, change people's assignments, and promote people, based on fair and just standards, and secure a working environment that will contribute to the capacities of each employee, help them respect each other, and not experience discrimination or harassment. We cultivate lively corporate customs. We aim to have a comfortable, safe, and clean working environment by giving the employees mental and physical space and enriching surroundings.

Code of practice

Our employees strive to maintain safe and sanitary company facilities and offices. For this reason, they pay attention to the measures the preserve safe and sanitary conditions in the buildings and facilities, every day. Our employees comply with the work standards that support safety, sanitation and health.

3. Relationships with our local community and society
Basic policy

We take responsibility for the local communities and societies by involving ourselves, cooperating with them, and maintaining good neighborly relationships. Also, we support the creation of an enriching living environment and contribute to society with appropriate donations, after considering the social and public aspects of the activities of the recipients.

Code of practice

Our employees actively participate in local and social activities, and make efforts to be understood by people in our local community and at large, regarding our management policies and business activities. That is why, by taking social responsibilities in such ways as by making contributions and donations, we try to improve our social value as a corporation. When we first opened our office, we put a lot of effort into contributing to the surrounding environment, and thought hard about how to solve problems like traffic burdens, parking in undesignated areas, sound generation, and odor creation, and thereby built a good relationship with our neighbors. We do not have anything to do with any anti-social forces of organizations that might have a bad effect on the social system or safe lives for the populace, and indeed we would confront any of these factors, and exclude them if we encountered them.
