Deliver high quality services
My name is Susanne Kaiser and I am the Director of the Global Project Management (GPM) Department in Linical’s Tokyo office. Together with my team of Project Managers in Tokyo and Osaka we manage all international clinical studies for our Japanese and Asian clients. We have experience in a wide range of indications, including CNS and musculoskeletal diseases, with a special focus on oncology.
The Project Management team works very closely with the local clinical teams in our affiliates in Asia (Korea, Taiwan and Singapore) and the US, as well as our back-end services, which are mainly provided by our European affiliate, delivering top quality by combining local knowledge and technical expertise of all departments at Linical.
As Director of GPM out of Japan, I work closely with Karsten Krug and his team of European Project Managers in unifying Linical’s approach to study management across all regions. Under our secondment program, currently 2 Japanese Monitor Leads are stationed at Linical Europe offices for training as Project Managers.
As a Project Management team within the only global Japanese CRO, we are specifically focusing on Japanese and Asian clients, offering them project management services based in the region and in their language, having PMs fluent in Japanese, Korean and Chinese, as well as English.
Enjoy the process of growing into a true global CRO
I joined Linical in 2015 after relocating to Japan for a new adventure in my life. My mother tongue is German and I also speak Spanish, Italian, English and Japanese fluently. Before coming to Japan, I lived for 15 years in Spain, where I started my career in the Data Management department of a pharmaceutical company. In 2006 I moved onwards to Project Management at a Global CRO. As a Project Manager and Project Director I have successfully managed both large (2500+ patients) and small, phase I to IV full scope trials from study start-up through close out across the world (Europe, Asia, Australia, North & South America) together with the team leads of each service department.
One of my studies involved sites in Japan so early on I had the opportunity to understand the Japanese clinical management style, focusing strongly on quality and personal relationship with the sites.
Currently, apart from managing the GPM team in Japan, I also oversee two international trials. One of them is the first Japan – US project at Linical. In this project I work closely with the Japanese Monitor Lead and his US counterpart, assuring the knowledge transfer from Japan and the Japanese sponsor to the US team. We are running the study as one global trial, but with consideration towards the different management styles and site expectations in both countries.
I am excited to be at Linical and see us successfully grow into a global CRO combining Japanese business culture with a deep understanding of the clinical trial environment and business culture in all regions we serve.
